CAUTION

StartingtheEngine
1.Connectthewirestothesparkplugs.
2.Openthefuelvalve.
3.Settheparkingbrake.
4.Movethethrottlecontroltofastandmovethe
chokelevertotheonpositionbeforestartingacold
engine(Figure7).
Note:Awarmorhotenginemaynotrequire
choking.Tostartawarmengine,movethrottle
controlmidwaybetweenthefastandslow
positions.

energizethestarter.Whentheenginestarts,release
thekey.
Note:Donotengagethestarterformorethan
5secondsatatime.Iftheenginefailstostart,
allowfora15secondcool-downperiodbetween
attempts.Failuretofollowtheseinstructionscan
burnoutthestartermotor.
6.Whenenginestarts,movethethrottlecontrol
betweenthefastandslowpositionandmovethe
chokelevertotheoffposition.Allowtheengine
towarmupandthenmovethethrottlecontrolto
thefastposition.
StoppingtheEngine
1.Movethemotioncontrolleverstoneutralandmove
therightsidemotioncontrolleverintotheneutral
lockposition.
2.Movethethrottlelevertoslow(Figure7).
3.Iftheenginehasbeenworkinghardorishot,let
theengineidlefor30to60secondsbeforeturning
theengineoff.
4.Tostoptheengine,turntheignitionkeytooff.
Important:Makesurefuelshutoffvalve
isclosedbeforetransportingorstoringthe
machine,asfuelleakagemayoccur.Before
storingthemachine,pullwireoffsparkplug(s)
topreventpossibilityofaccidentalstarting.
