ServiceInterval:Every50hours
Squealingwhenthebeltisrotating,bladesslippingwhen
cuttinggrass,frayedbeltedges,burnmarksandcracks
aresignsofawornbelt.Replacethebeltifanyofthese
conditionsareevident.
ReplacingtheMowerBelt
Important:Thefastenersonthecoversofthis
machinearedesignedtoremainwiththecoverafter
removal.
1.DisengagethePTOandsettheparkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Unlatchandremovethecarrierframecover.
4.Removethebeltcoverboltsandremovethebelt
cover.
5.RemovethePTOdrivebelt.RefertoReplacingthe
PTODriveBelt.
6.Disconnecttheidlerarmspringtorelievetensionon
theidlerarmandidlerpulley,thenremovetheworn
mowerbelt(
Figure39).
7.Installthenewmowerbeltaroundthetwooutside
spindlepulleys,theidlerpulley,andinthelower
grooveofthedoublespindlepulley(Figure39).
8.Connecttheidlerarmspring(
Figure39).
9.InstallthePTOdrivebelt.RefertoReplacingthe
PTODriveBelt.
10.Adjustthebeltguidean1/8inch(3mm)fromthe
belt(Figure39).
11.Installthebeltcoverontothecuttingunitandsecure
itwiththebolts.
12.Installthecarrierframecoverontothecuttingunit
andsecurethelatches.
