7. Remove the carrier frame cover (Fig. 0004). 9. Raise the machine so that the underside of the
chassis can be accessed.
10. Remove the trailing shield from the chassis by fi rst
removing the left end of the shield rod (bent at a 45
degree angle) from the hole in the frame and then
remove the right side of the shield rod (bent at 90
degree angle) from the right side of the frame (Fig.
0006).

11. Remove the PTO idler arm spring from the spring
post (Fig. 0007).
8. Roll the PTO drive belt off the center pulley on the
mower deck (Fig. 0005).
