Installing the Mounting Beams

onto the Back Panel

1. Remove the flange nuts from the four screws in

the back panel. Don’t remove the screws from

the back panel (Fig. 1).

2. Position the two mounting beams on the back

panel. Align the holes in the beams

corresponding to the height-of-cut with the four

screws in the back panel (Fig. 1).

3. Fasten the mounting beams to the back panel

with the four flange nuts removed in step 1

above (Fig 1).

Installation Installing the Bagging Attachment to the Cutting Unit Note: 1. 2. Make sure the rubber seal is positioned between the deflector hinges and the deck spring (Fig. 3). For the grass to be dispersed correctly into the bag, the bottom edge of the cutting unit must be above the bottom edge of the back panel. Position the back panel and attached mounting beams onto the cutting deck and carrier frame. Center the opening in the back panel to the deflector (Fig. 2). Figure 3 1.

Installation Installing the Lockup Rod onto the Deflector 1. Measure 2-7/8 inches in from the edge of the deflector and mark a line parallel to the edge of the deflector (Fig. 4). 2. Position the lockup rod on the deflector so the outside hole in the lockup rod base lines up with the line on the deflector (Fig. 4). 3. Hold the lockup rod base on the deflector, raise the deflector and lockup rod and move the lockup rod forward or backward so the lockup rod is centered in the back panel slot (Fig. 5).

Installation Attaching the Bag Support Tubes to the Bottom Tray 1. 2. Fasten the front bag support tube (already threaded through the bag) to the inside of the bottom tray using six 5/16”-18 x 3/4” bolts and flange nuts (Fig. 6). Mounting the Bag Assembly 1. Raise the lockup rod, hook the front bag support tube onto the back panel bag support, then lower the bag against the back panel (Fig. 7). 2. Hook the lockup latch onto the bag tube (Fig. 7).

Installation Bagging Tips POTENTIAL HAZARD • Without the grass deflector, mulch baffle, or complete grass catcher assembly mounted in place, you and others are exposed to blade contact and thrown debris. • Always install the bagging attachment before starting the engine. When removing or installing the bag, shut off the engine. • Cut grass when it is dry to avoid slippery footing and clogging the mower housing and discharge area.

Maintenance Cleaning the Bagger Attachment POTENTIAL HAZARD • The grass bag material may tear, wear, and eventually deteriorate. 1. After each use, remove and wash the inside and outside of the bagger attachment using water sprayed from a garden hose. Use a mild automotive detergent to remove stubborn dirt. 2. Make sure you remove any matted grass from all parts. 3. Let all parts dry thoroughly after washing. Do not wash the grass bag.

Maintenance Storing the Bagger Attachment POTENTIAL HAZARD • If you store grass clippings in the bagger attachment cloth grass bag, under the right conditions, spontaneous combustion (a fire-generating process that occurs without an external source of ignition) could occur. WHAT CAN HAPPEN • If a fire occurs, property could be damaged and/or someone could be injured. HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD • The cloth grass bags are not storage containers. Never store grass clippings and debris in the grass bag. 1.
