Subject: Routine Cylinder Head maintenance requirements.
Engine Head Bolt tightening is required whenever Valve Clearance Adjustment is
performed (first 50 then every 400 hours thereafter). The intervals and values are
noted in the Operator's Manual and the procedures are listed in the Service Manual on
page 3-13 under Valve Clearance Adjustments. Failure to perform this procedure at
the recommended timeframes could result in Head Gasket leaking. Assistance in
performing this procedure is available through your local Toro distributor.
