Subject: PTO CLUTCH GEAR PART NUMBER INFORMATION
The gasoline engine operates at different speed than the diesel. Consequently, the
PTO systems use different internal gears to provide similar PTO output speeds. Part
numbers for Clutch Assembly, Clutch Gear, and Pinion Gear are incorrectly identified in
your parts catalog (form #3318-578 & 3317-921).
The following parts or actions are required for the following specific repairs:
Clutch Assembly (94-9179) Replacement REPLACE DRIVEN GEAR ON CLUTCH
BEFORE INSTALLATION! Clutch requires a 42-tooth gear but is supplied with 40-tooth
gear. Install 42 tooth Gear (94-3911) before installing new clutch. You may reuse the
original gear if not worn. A complete Clutch assembly (clutch + correct gear) is not
available for Model 30300. On page 10 of the parts catalog, please change the part
number of item #26 to 94-3911.
Pinion Gear Replacement The correct Gear (94-3902) that drives the clutch has 22
teeth. The incorrect Gear (94-4052), identified in your parts catalog, has 25 teeth. On
page 9 of the parts catalog, please change the part number of item #30 to 94-3902.
