Subject: Orifice and Monoblock changes (Rotating Broom Drop Speed)
Some customers may desire to reduce the lowering speed when using heavy
accessories like the Rotating Brush (M#30386). Reducing the drop speed may also
reduce ground following ability when a mower deck is installed.
A replaceable orifice is located in the Monoblock that limits the drop speed of an
accessory. Orifices and Monoblocks were produced with two different thread sizes and
are not interchangeable. The orifice part numbers identified in the rotating brush
operators’ manual and traction unit parts catalog may be incorrect
Original products use small orifices (5/16-24NF thread size). Newer products have
larger orifices (9/16-18 thread size). You may need to inspect the thread size of your
orifice to ensure you order the correct part.
For greatest control, order a non-drilled orifice and drill a small hole (#46 or smaller)
using a machinists drill set. Increase hole size as required. Orifices are listed below.
