Subject: 4 Wheel Drive Axle (95-2592) is Discontinued

Groundsmaster 3000-D has been out of production for some time. The rear 4-wheel

drive (4WD) axle has been discontinued by the supplier. As a result, if a failure to the

4WD axle is experienced, repair parts may not be available.

A failure to Axle (95-2592) where parts are not available results in the need to convert

the axle. There are two options to convert the axle.

Option 1: Remove all 4WD components and install the two wheel drive axle and

steering cylinder according to Service Manual instructions. Parts are found in the parts

book for the unit.

Option 2: Remove the existing 4WD axle and steering cylinder and install 4WD Rear

Axle Replacement Kit (114-2860). This replacement kit utilizes a current production

Daedong axle modified to run in the GM 3000-D.

Note: As a result of the different axle type, axle movement and turning radius will be

slightly reduced. Most internal parts are available at the time of this publication. Repair

using quality Toro parts is recommended. These alternatives are only intended for

those rare instances where the parts needed are no longer available.
