Safety
•Tomaintainmachinecontrolandimprovethestability
ofthemachine,mount34kg(75lb)ofweightonthe
left,frontwheelofthetractionunitbeforeusingthis
kit.RefertothetractionunitOperator’sManualforany
additionalweightrequirements.
•Stayawayfromthehopperandthehopperlinkageduring
operation.
•Neveroperatethecollectionsystemwiththehopper
coversopen.
•Grasscatchercomponentsaresubjecttowear,damage,
anddeterioration,whichcouldexposemovingparts
orallowobjectstobethrown.Frequentlycheckthe
componentsandreplacethemwithmanufacturer’s
recommendedparts,whennecessary.
•Stoptheenginebeforeremovingthegrasscatcheror
uncloggingthechute.
•Beforeraisingthehopper:
–Ensurethatthemachineisonlevelground.
–DisengagethePTO.
–Clearbystandersfromtheareaaroundthehopper
andthehopperlinkage.
–Checktheoverheadclearance.
•Donotdumptheclippingsoveranembankment.
•Lowerthehopperfullybeforedrivingthemachine.
•Thegrasscatchercanobstructtheviewtotherear.Use
extracarewhenoperatingthemachineinreverse.
•Ifyouremovethegrasscatcher,besuretotheinstallany
dischargedeectororguardthatyoumighthaveremoved
toinstallthegrasscatcher.Donotoperatethemower
withouteithertheentiregrasscatcherorgrassdeector
inplace.
•Beforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkonthe
hydraulicsystem,relieveallthepressureinthesystem
bystoppingtheengineandloweringtheimplementto
theground.
•Useextracarewithgrasscatchersorotherattachments.
Thesecanchangetheoperatingcharacteristicsandthe
stabilityofthemachine.
•Donotuseagrasscatcheronsteepslopes.Aheavy
grasscatchercouldcauselossofcontroloroverturnthe
machine.
•Slowdownanduseextracareonhillsides.Besureto
travelintherecommendeddirectiononhillsides.Turf
conditionscanaffectthestabilityofthemachine.Use
extremecautionwhileoperatingneardrop-offs.
•Usecarewhenloadingorunloadingthemachineinto
atrailerortruck.Ifthemachineistobedrivenonto
atruckortrailerwithafullhopper,alwaysmoveitin
reverseuptheramp.
•Donotwalkunderthehopperorservicethemachine
unlessthehopperisfullyraisedandempty,withhydraulic
linesdisconnectedatthequickcouplersorthehopper
fullylowered.
•Donotremoveanyhydrauliclineunlessthehopperis
fullyloweredorfullyraisedandempty.
•Ensurethatallhydrauliclineconnectorsaretightandthat
allhydraulichosesandlinesareingoodconditionbefore
applyingpressuretothesystem.
•Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrompin-holeleaksor
nozzlesthatejecthydraulicuidunderhighpressure.
Usepaperorcardboard,notyourhands,tosearchfor
leaks.Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecanhave
sufcientforcetopenetratetheskinanddoserious
damage.Ifuidisejectedintotheskin,itmustbe
surgicallyremovedwithinafewhoursbyadoctorfamiliar
withthisformofinjuryorgangrenemayresult.
