Front Implement Falls After Lifting
Product: Groundsmaster ® 7200 PolarTrac April 1, 2011
Affected Units:
PolarTrac Equipped Units
Models:
30370
30383
Serial Numbers:
270000999-290000999
270000101-270000111
Situation:
In some cases, operators may report that the front implement on a PolarTrac equipped
GM7200 falls rapidly to the ground each time it is lifted. It has been determined that
pressure spikes can be generated in the lift cylinder when transporting a front attachment
over rough terrain. These spikes may fracture the seat in the two-spool lift valve.
Instructions:
A Lift Cylinder (117-9227) with an internal pressure relief valve designed to cap pressure
spikes is now standard on all Polar Trac units. In addition, the Lift Valve (110-3588) is now
equipped with a hardened seat capable of withstanding higher system pressure. Lift
Cylinder (117-9227) and hardened Seat (117-9228) are both available as service parts and
can be used to upgrade 2009 and older GM 7200 two spool lift valves when equipped with a
PolarTrac.
