MowWhenGrassIsDry
Moweitherinthelatemorningtoavoidthedew,which
causesgrassclumping,orinlateafternoontoavoid
thedamagethatcanbecausedbydirectsunlighton
thesensitive,freshlymowedgrass.
SelecttheProperHeight-of-Cut
SettingtoSuitConditions
Removeapproximately25mm(1inch)orno
morethan1/3ofthegrassbladewhencutting.In
exceptionallylushanddensegrass,youmayhaveto
raisetheheight-of-cuttothenextsetting.
MowatProperIntervals
Undermostnormalconditionsyouwillneedtomow
approximatelyevery4or5days.Butremember,grass
growsatdifferentratesatdifferenttimes.Thismeans
thatinordertomaintainthesameheight-of-cut,which
isagoodpractice,youwillneedtocutmorefrequently
inearlyspring;asthegrassgrowthrateslowsin
midsummer,cutonlyevery8to10days.Ifyouare
unabletomowforanextendedperiodoftimedueto
weatherconditionsorotherreasons,mowrstwith
theheight-of-cutatahighlevel;thenmowagain2or
3dayslaterwithalowerheightsetting.
AlwaysMowwithSharpBlades
Asharpbladecutscleanlyandwithouttearingor
shreddingthegrassbladeslikeadullblade.Tearing
andshreddingcausesthegrasstoturnbrownat
theedgeswhichimpairsgrowthandincreases
susceptibilitytodiseases.
AfterOperating
Toensureoptimumperformance,cleantheunderside
ofthemowerhousingaftereachuse.Ifresidueis
allowedtobuildupinthemowerhousing,cutting
performancewilldecrease.
CuttingUnitPitch
Useabladepitchof6mm(1/4inch).Apitchlarger
than6mm(1/4inch)willresultinlesspowerrequired,
largerclippings,andapoorerqualityofcut.Apitch
lessthan6mm(1/4inch)willresultinmorepower
required,smallerclippingsandabetterqualityofcut.
