Note:TheAirConditionerMountingKitistobe

usedinconjunctionwiththeSandenCorporation

Compressor,PartNo.SD-505(5012).

1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface.Setthe

parkingbrake,lowerthecuttingunits,turnthe

ignitionoffandremovethekey.

Ifyouleavethekeyintheignitionswitch,

someonecouldaccidentlystarttheengineand

seriouslyinjureyouorotherbystanders.

Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchbefore

youdoanymaintenance.

2.Removethebatterycover.

3.Removethenegativebatterycablefromthebattery

post.

4.Removetheboltsandwasherssecuringthealternator

andshieldtotheadjustingarmandmountingbracket

(Figure1).Retainthealternatorandfastenersfor

installationwiththenewcomponents.Discardthe

shield.

6.Removetheboltsecuringthealternatoradjusting

armtotheengine(Figure1).

7.Removethehosefromtheaircleanerandthe

radiatorshroud(Figure2).Draintheradiator.

8.Removetheupperandlowerradiatorhoses

(Figure2).

9.Installtheupperradiatorhoseinthelowerhose

position.Donotinstallthelowerradiatorhoseat

theupperlocationatthistime.

10.Removethe(4)boltssecuringthefanclutchtothe

adapter(Figure1).Removethefanandthefan

clutch.

beremovedandreplaced.Theengineserialnumber

isonaplatelocatedbytheinjectionpump(Figure3).

Removethecrankshaftpulley(Figure1)andreplace

itwithToroPartNo.105-4576.Torquethenutto

101-116ft./lbs.(137-157N-m).Usecautionwhen

tighteningthenutnottodamagethecrankshaftseal

byplacingsideloadonthecrankshaft.

0. Using the old alternator mounting bracket bolt and a M10 x 100 mm bolt, lockwasher and nut, mount the new bracket (Figure 4) to the engine at the same locations the alternator was mounted. 21. Loosely mount each end of the compressor (Figure 5) to a slot in the bracket with a 1-3/8-16 x 3/8" bolt, (2) flat washers, spacer, lockwasher and nut. Position the fasteners as shown in Figure 5.
