Note:Ontractionunitswiththemodelandserial

numberslistedbelow,inspecttheairhosebetweenthe

aircleanerandtheturbotodetermineitspartnumber.If

airhose,117-2396isinstalled,nochangesarerequired.

Ifairhose114-3838isinstalled,orderairhose117-2396

andreplacetheexistinghose.Thenewhoseisrequired

toprovideadditionalclearanceforthiskit.

1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface.Setthe

parkingbrake,lowerthecuttingunits,turnthe

ignitionoffandremovethekey.

2.Removethebatterycover.

3.Disconnectthenegative(black)batterycablefrom

thebattery.

Note:Whenmountingthe90ampalternator,use

theinstructionsandcomponentssuppliedwiththe

airconditionermountingkit,nottheinstructions

suppliedwiththealternatorkit.

4.Removethenutandwashersecuringthepositive

batterycabletothealternatorstud.Removethe

cablefromthealternator.

5.Disconnectthewireharnessfromthealternator.

6.Loosenthealternatormountingboltandnut

Figure1).Also,loosenthetensioningbracket

adjustingbolt.

8.Removethealternatorandtensioningbracketbolts

andremovethealternator.

9.Removetheboltsecuringtheendofthetensioning

brackettotheengineandremovethebracket

tensioningbracketbolt(Figure1).Retainthebolts

fortheinstallationofthenewtensioningbracket.

10.Onmodels30412and30413only,disconnectthe

alternatorpowercablefromthebottomofthe

starterandreplaceitwiththelargercableincluded

withthe90ampalternatorkit.

Loosen the alternator mounting bolt and nut (Figure 1). Also, loosen the tensioning bracket adjusting bolt.

11. Mount the new air conditioning pulley to the engine crank shaft with 3 bolts (M8 x 60) and lock washers (0.313 inch I.D.) (Figure 2). The spacer part of the pulley is to be positioned toward engine pulley. 14. Loosely mount the idler pulley to the idler pulley bracket with a carriage bolt (3/8 inch x 1-1/2 inch), 2 flat washers (0.406 inch), and a lock nut (3/8 inch) (Figure 4). Figure 2 Figure 4 1. 16. Mount the alternator to the top of the A/C mounting bracket with a bolt (M10 x 110), spacer, lock washer, and M10 locknut (Figure 6). 19. Loosely mount the tensioning bracket and the upper corner of the air conditioner mounting bracket to the engine with a bolt (M8 x 100), a lock washer (0.313 inch), and a M8 flat washer (Figure 7). 20. Tighten the 3 M8 x 100 bolts first. 21. Tighten the 2 M8 x 20 bolts on the bottom of the bracket. 22.

26. Loosely mount the compressor to the compressor arm with a bolt (M10 x 110), lock washer, and nut, as shown in Figure 9. 32.
