Installation

1.Engagetheparkingbrake,besurethetractionpedal

isintheneutralposition,thePTOleverisinthe

OFFposition,shuttheengineOFFandremovethe

keyfromtheswitch.

CAUTION

Ifyouleavethekeyintheignitionswitch,

someonecouldaccidentlystarttheengineand

seriouslyinjureyouorotherbystanders.

Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchbefore

youdoanymaintenance.

2.Raisethemachineonahoistorjackupthefrontof

themachine.Usejackstandsorblockthemachine

topreventiffromfalling.

Important:Caporpluganydisconnected

hydraulichoses,tubesorcomponentportsto

preventcontaminationofthesystemduring

installationofthekit.

3.Disconnectthehydraulictubefromtheteetting

onthefrontoftheleftwheelmotorandfromthe

reartractiontube(

Figure1).Removeandretainthe

quickttinganddustcapfromthetube.

tractiontube(Figure2).Donottightenatthistime.

Engage the parking brake, be sure the traction pedal is in the neutral position, the PTO lever is in the OFF position, shut the engine OFF and remove the key from the switch. CAUTION If you leave the key in the ignition switch, someone could accidently start the engine and seriously injure you or other bystanders.

• Thread a straight fitting into the front of the flow divider manifold. Torque the fitting to 20-21 ft-lbs. • Thread a straight swivel fitting into the left side of the flow divider manifold. Torque the fitting to 81-87 ft-lbs. • Thread a straight fitting into the rear of the flow divider manifold. Torque the fitting to 81-87 ft-lbs. • On the Groundsmaster 4100-D only, remove the valve, shown in Figure 4, and replace with valve included in kit. Figure 3 12.

14. Thread a new tee fitting onto the end of the existing tee fitting (Figure 7). 19. Mount the new special fitting to the hydraulic filter head adapter fitting, positioning it as shown in Figure 9. Torque the fitting to 38-42 ft-lbs. 15. Re-connect the existing hose to the end of the new tee fitting (Figure 7). Note: Use back-up wrenches to prevent twisting of the hydraulic hoses. Figure 7 1. Operation Operating Tips The flow divider kit enhances the traction drive performance in compromised operating conditions. The flow divider is for intermittent use in the low speed range only. When approaching an area known to cause wheel spin, depress and hold the flow divider switch until completely past the problem area. If a tire spins while climbing or maneuvering on slopes, depress the switch and slowly drive out of the area.
