Procedure

1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,setthe

parkingbrake,lowerthecuttingunits,turnthe

ignitionoff,andremovethekey.

CAUTION

Ifyouleavethekeyintheignitionswitch,

someonecouldaccidentlystarttheengineand

seriouslyinjureyouorbystanders.

Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchbefore

youinstallthekit.

2.Disconnectthenegativebatterycablefromthe

batterypost.

1.Removethehydraulic-linecoverfromthebaseof

thesteering-towercover(Figure1).

Position the machine on a level surface, set the parking brake, lower the cutting units, turn the ignition off, and remove the key. CAUTION If you leave the key in the ignition switch, someone could accidently start the engine and seriously injure you or bystanders.

Mount the appropriate (right hand or left hand) tail-light assembly to the appropriate (right-hand or left-hand) light mount with 2 screws (M8-1.25) as shown in Figure 8. 5. Locate the 2-way connector near the starter and the relays in the engine compartment, and connect the black wire from the kit wiring harness to the connector (Figure 10).

Installing the SMV Emblem No Parts Required Procedure 1. Secure the SMV mount to the ROPS posts with 2 mounting straps, 4 screws (1/4 x 1/2 inch), 2 flat washers, and 4 locknuts (Figure 15). Operation Using the Light Switch 2010 Models only Press the switch (Figure 19) to the On position. This will activate head lamps, tail lamps, and warning flashers as follows: Figure 18 1. Reflective tape • 2 head lamps will be on. • The amber warning lamps will flash at a slow rate. 8 • The red tail lamps will be on steady (low intensity). Connecting the Battery No Parts Required Procedure Connect the negative battery cable to the battery post. Figure 19 1.

If you are turning the machine to the right: The right-hand combination warning/turn/tail lamp will do the following: • The amber lamp will flash. • The low-intensity red tail lamp will be on steady. • The high-intensity red tail lamp will be high rate flash. The left-hand combination warning/turn/tail lamp will do the following: • The amber lamp will be on steady. • The red tail lamp will be on steady (both high and low intensity). Figure 21 1.
