Subject: Hydraulic oil leaks past Motor Seal into 4wd Rear Axle.

When installing Traction Drive Motor Seal (76-7340), be certain that it is positioned properly

to prevent oil from entering the Axle. The Service Manual diagrams for proper Seal

installation are vague. If this Seal is installed improperly, repetitive failures can result.

A revised diagram detailing proper parts and Seal orientation is shown below for your

reference. Copies of this diagram are recommended to be inserted into all affected Service

Manuals (Reelmaster 335/3500-D, 6500/6700-D and Groundsmaster 455-D) in section 6 -

Axles and Brakes.
