WARNING
Ifyouraisethemachineusingonlyajacktosupport
itwhileyouworkunderthemowerdeck,thejack
couldtip,causingthemowerdecktofall,crushing
youorbystanders.
Alwayssecurethemachinewithatleast2jack
standswhenyouhavethemowerdeckraised.
CAUTION
Onthetopofthemowerdeckaretwolinksthat
connectthemtotheframe.Connectedtotheselinks
aretorsionspringthatareundertension(Figure72).
Ifyoudisconnectthelinkthestoredenergyinthe
torsionspringwillbereleasedandcouldcausethe
linkstomove,damagingyourhandsorngers.
Becarefulwhenremovingthemowerdeckfrom
theframeandsecurethelinksbeforedisconnecting
themfromtheframe.

ServicingtheCuttingBlades
Maintainsharpbladesthroughoutthecuttingseason
becausesharpbladescutcleanlywithouttearingor
shreddingthegrassblades.Tearingandshreddingturns
grassbrownattheedges,whichslowsgrowthand
increasesthechanceofdisease.
Checkthebladesdailyforsharpness,andforanywear
ordamage.Sharpenthebladesasnecessary.Ifabladeis
damagedorworn,replaceitimmediatelywithagenuine
Tororeplacementblade.
