CorrectingtheMowerDeck
Mismatch
Ifthecutisunevenacrossthemowerswath,correctitas
follows:
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurfaceontheshop
oor.
2.Setthecuttingunittothedesiredheightofcut,move
thethrottlelevertotheSlowposition,stoptheengine,
settheparkingbrake,andremovetheignitionkey.
3.Checkandadjustfrontandreartractortirepressure;
referto
CheckingtheTirePressure(page46).
4.Checkforbentblades.
5.Removethecoversfromthetopofthecuttingunits.
6.Rotatethebladeoneachspindleuntiltheendsface
forwardandbackward.
7.Measurefromtheoortothefronttipofthecutting
edge.
8.Adjustthejamnutssecuringthedeckyokes/chainsto
themowerdeckuntilthemowerdeckislevel.

Cuttingunitpitchisthedifferenceinheight-of-cutfromthe
frontofthebladeplanetothebackofthebladeplane.Use
abladepitchofapproximately5/16inch(8mm).Thatis
thebackofthebladeplaneis5/16inch(8mm)higherthan
thefront.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurfaceontheshop
oor.
2.Setthecuttingunittothedesiredheight-of-cut,move
thethrottlelevertotheSlowposition,stoptheengine,
settheparkingbrake,andremovetheignitionkey.
3.Rotatethecenterbladesothatitpointsstraight
forward.
4.Usingashortruler,measurefromtheoortothefront
tipoftheblade.
5.Rotatethesamebladetiptotherearandmeasurefrom
theoortothetipofthebladeattherearofthedeck.
6.Subtractthefrontdimensionfromthereardimension
tocalculatethebladepitch.
7.Adjustthejamnutssecuringthereardeckyokes/chains
toraisetherearofthedecksothatthebladepitchis
setto5/16inch(8mm)(
