•Radiatorandradiatorscreen
•Underneaththedeck
•Underthedeckbeltcovers
•Counterbalancesprings
•PTOshaftassembly
•Allgreasettingsandpivotpoints
•Removethecontrolpanelandcleanoutinside
ofthecontrolbox
•Beneaththeseatplateandtopofthetransmission
2.Checkandadjustfrontandreartractortirepressure;
refertoCheckingTirePressurein,page.
3.Remove,sharpen,andbalancethemowerblades.
Installthebladesandtorquethebladefastenersto
85-110ft-lb(115-149N⋅m).
4.Checkallfastenersforloosenessandtightenthemas
necessary.Especiallytorquethe6boltssecuringthe
mowerdeckframetothetractionunit(Figure76)
to265ft-lb(359N⋅m).

7.Servicethebatteryandcablesasfollows:
A.Removethebatteryterminalsfromthebattery
posts.
B.Cleanthebattery,terminals,andpostswitha
wirebrushandbakingsodasolution.
C.Coatthecableterminalsandbatterypostswith
Grafo112Xskin-overgrease(ToroPartNo.
505-47)orpetroleumjellytopreventcorrosion.
D.Slowlyrechargethebatteryfor24hoursevery60
daystopreventleadsulfationofthebattery.
Engine
1.Draintheengineoilfromtheoilpanandreplace
thedrainplug.
2.Removeanddiscardtheoillter.Installanewlter.
3.Relltheenginewith4quarts(3.8l)ofrecommended
motoroil.RefertoChangingtheEngineOilin,
page.
4.Starttheengineandrunitatidlespeedfortwo
minutes.
5.Drainthefuelfromthefueltank,fuellines,pump,
lter,andseparator.Flushthefueltankwithclean
dieselfuelandconnectallfuellines.
6.Thoroughlycleanandservicetheaircleaner
assembly.
7.Sealtheaircleanerinletandtheexhaustoutletwith
weatherproofmaskingtape.
8.Checktheoilllercapandfueltankcaptoensure
theyaresecurelyinplace.
