Subject: Castor Wheels lock up and do not rotate.
The Bearing Spacer inside Castor Wheel Assembly (93-4240) may interfere with the
free rotation of the wheel during operation due to an incorrect fit or improper positioning
of the bearing spacer inside the wheel. If you have a castor wheel that does not rotate
as it should, tighten the wheel bolt to 150 ft-lb (21 Kgm) while rotating the tire and wheel
assembly to center the internal spacer. If the Castor Wheel Assembly binds and it is
not due to the condition of the bearings, the assembly should be replaced. Parts are
available through your local Toro distributor.
Replacement Castor Wheel Assemblies utilize a bearing spacer with a reduced outside
diameter to eliminate fit and assembly problems that can cause wheel binding
conditions. All future Castor Wheels will include this change.
