Subject: Center Deck Model Number 30592 – Revised Center Spindle
Belt Tension and Maintenance procedures.
The tension of the Triple Groove Deck Belt should be reset after
the initial ten hours of operation, and it should be rechecked
every 50 hours thereafter. The (used) belt tension specification
is 3.25 inches (83mm). However, when replacing the belt with a
(new) belt, set the tension to 3.062 inches (78 mm) for the initial
setting only.
Operating the decks with loose belts may damage the belt, the
spindles, or both. Refer to the revised Decal artwork below.
The complete adjustment procedure is listed on the Belt
Tension Decal, Operator’s Manual, and Service Manual.
NOTE: Ongoing field testing has shown that improved belt life
can be achieved if these new tensioning specifications are used.
The Belt Tension Decal on units other than the Model 30582
decks has a different belt tension specification. We recommend
that these new tension specifications be used, and to prevent
confusion that a new Belt Tensioning Decal (106-0044) be
installed.
