Unacuchilladesgastadaodañadapuederomperse,
yuntrozodelacuchillapodríaserarrojadoalazona
dondeestáeloperadoruotrapersona,provocando
lesionespersonalesgravesolamuerte.
•Inspeccioneperiódicamentelascuchillas,para
asegurarsedequenoestándesgastadasni
dañadas.
•Nointenteenderezarunacuchilladoblada.
•Nosueldenuncaunacuchillarotaoagrietada.
•Cambiecualquiercuchilladesgastadaodañada
porunacuchillaToronuevaparaasegurarque
elproductosigacumpliendolacerticaciónde
seguridad.
Enlainspecciónyelaladodelacuchilla,esnecesario
tenerencuentadoszonas:lavelayellodecorte.
Tantoellodecortecomolavela–laparteinclinada
haciaarribafrenteallodecorte–contribuyenauna
buenacalidaddecorte.Lavelaesimportanteporque
levantayenderezalahojadehierba,asíproduciendo
uncortehomogéneo.Noobstante,lavelasedesgasta
gradualmentedurantelaoperación,yestoesnormal.
Amedidaquelavelasedesgasta,lacalidaddecorte
disminuyealgo,aunqueloslosesténalados.Ello
decortedelacuchilladebeestaraladoparaquela
hierbaseacortadaenvezdedesgarrada.Cuandolas
puntasdelashojasdehierbatienenunaspectomarróny
desgarrado,esseñaldequeellonoestáalado.Alela
cuchillaparacorregirestacondición.
1.Coloquelamáquinaenunasupercienivelada.
Elevelaunidaddecorte,pongaelfrenode
estacionamiento,pongaelpedaldetracciónenpunto
muerto,pongaelinterruptordetransmisióndelas
unidadesdecorteenlaposicióndeDesengranado,
pareelmotor,retirelallavedecontacto,ycoloquelos
enganchesdeseguridaddelosbrazosdeelevación.
2.Examinecuidadosamentelosextremosdecortedela
cuchilla,sobretodoenelpuntodereuniónentrela
parteplanaylapartecurvadelacuchilla(
Figura28).
Puestoquelaarenaylosmaterialesabrasivospueden
desgastarelmetalqueconectalaspartescurvay
planadelacuchilla,compruebelacuchillaantesde
utilizarlamáquina.Siobservaseñalesdedesgaste

Figura28),cambielacuchilla;consulteCómoretirar
