Forwardrotationcuttingunitdriveengagement:Press
thetopofthecuttingunitdriveswitchtotheforwardposition
(Figure32).
Reverserotationcuttingunitdriveengagement:Press
thebottomofthecuttingunitdriveswitchtothereverse
position(Figure32).
Allcuttingunitdrivesdisengagement:Settheswitchto
themiddleposition(Figure32).
Tolowerthecuttingunits:Thecuttingunitdriveswitch
mustbesettoforward.Operatetheliftcontrolswitch(s)ina
downwarddirection.Thereeldriveswhenthecuttingunits
areapproximately150mm(6inches)abovegroundlevel.
ClearingtheCuttingUnits
WARNING
Neverattempttorotatethecuttingunitsbyhand.
Theremaybesomeresidualpressureinthe
hydraulicsystem,whichcouldcauseinjurythrough
suddenmovementofthecuttingunit(s)whenthe
blockageisreleased.
•Alwayswearprotectiveglovesanduseasuitable
strongwoodeninstrument.
•Ensurethatthewoodeninstrumentwillt
betweenthebladesandthroughthereelandis
longenoughtoprovidesufcientleverageto
releasetheblockage.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecutting
unitstothegroundorsecurelylocktheminthe
designatedtransportpositions,engagetheparking
brake,shutofftheengine,andremovethekeyfrom
theignitionswitch.
2.Releaseallstoredenergydevices.
3.Checkthatallmovingpartsarestationary.
4.Usingasuitablestrongwoodeninstrument,remove
theblockage.Ensurethatthewoodeninstrumentis
properlysupportedinthecuttingunitandavoidthe
useofexcessiveforcetopreventdamage.
5.Ensurethatthewoodeninstrumentisremovedfrom
thecuttingunitbeforerestartingthepowersource.
6.Repairoradjustthecuttingunitifrequired.
UsingWeight
Transfer/TractionAssistance
Avariablehydraulicweighttransfersystemisprovidedfor
improvingtiregripwiththegrasssurface—tractionassistance.
Hydraulicpressureinthecuttingunitliftsystemprovidesa
liftingforcewhichreducestheweightofthecuttingunits
onthegroundandtransferstheweightasadownwardforce
ontothetiresofthemachine.Thisactionisknownasweight
transfer.
Toengageweighttransfer:Theamountofweighttransfer
canbevariedtosuitoperatingconditionsbyrotatingthe
weighttransferhandwheel(Figure33)asfollows:
1.Releasethevalvelocknut1/2turncounterclockwise
andhold(Figure33).
2.Rotatethevalvehandwheel(Figure33)
counterclockwisetoreduceweighttransferor
clockwisetoincreaseweighttransfer.
3.Tightenthenut.
