Thecutterheaddrivecanbeengagedonly
whentheoperatorisseatedcorrectly,refer
toOperatorPresenceSeatSwitch(page44).
Forwardrotationcutterheaddriveengagement:
Depressthetopofthecutterheaddriveswitchtothe
forwardposition.
Reverserotationcutterheaddriveengagement:
Depressthebottomofthecutterheaddriveswitchto
thereverseposition.
Allcutterheaddrivesdisengagement:Settheswitch
tothemiddleposition.
Tolowerthecutterheads:Thecutterheaddrive
switchmustbesettoforward.Operatetheliftcontrol
switch(s)inadownwarddirection.Thecylinderwill
drivewhenthecutterheadsareapproximately150mm
(6inches)abovegroundlevel.
ClearingtheCuttingCylinders
WARNING
Neverattempttorotatethecuttingcylindersby
hand.
Theremaybesomeresidualpressureinthe
hydraulicsystemwhichcouldcauseinjury
throughsuddenmovementofthecylinder(s)
whentheblockageisreleased.
Alwayswearprotectiveglovesanduseasuitable
strongwoodeninstrument.
Ensurethatthewoodeninstrumentwillt
betweenthebladesandthroughthecylinder
andislongenoughtoprovidesufcient
leveragetoreleasetheblockage.
1.Stopthemachineonlevelground.
2.Applytheparkingbrakeanddisengagealldrives.
3.Lowerthecuttingunitstothegroundorsecurely
lockinthedesignatedtransportpositions.
4.Stoptheengineandremovetheignitionkeyto
isolateallpowersourcesandcheckthattheyare
stopped.
5.Releaseallstoredenergydevices.
6.Checkthatallmovingpartsarestationary.
7.Usingasuitablestrongwoodeninstrument,
removetheblockage.Makesurethatthewooden
instrumentisproperlysupportedinthecylinderand
avoidtheuseofexcessiveforcetopreventdamage.
8.Ensurethatthewoodeninstrumentisremoved
fromthecuttingcylinderbeforerestartingthe
powersource.
9.Repairoradjustthecylinderifrequired.
UsingWeight
Transfer/TractionAssistance
Avariablehydraulicweighttransfersystemisprovided
forimprovingtyregripwiththegrasssurface-traction
assistance.
Hydraulicpressureinthecutterheadsliftsystem
providesaliftingforcewhichreducescutterheads
weightonthegroundandtransferstheweightasa
downwardforceontothemower’styres.Thisactionis
knownasweighttransfer.
Toengageweighttransfer:Theamountofweight
transfercanbevariedtosuitoperatingconditionsby
rotatingtheweighttransferhandwheelasfollows:
1.Releasethevalvelocknut1/2turnanti-clockwise
andhold.
2.Rotatethevalvehandwheel.
Anti-clockwisetoreduceweighttransfer.
Clockwisetoincreaseweighttransfer.
3.Tightenthenut.
