Familiarization
Beforemowinggrass,practiceoperatingthemachine
inanopenarea.Startandstoptheengine.Operatein
forwardandreverse.Lowerandraisethecuttingunits
andengageanddisengagethecutterheads.Whenyou
feelfamiliarwiththemachine,practiceoperatingup
anddownslopesatdifferentspeeds.
WarningSystem
Ifawarninglightcomesonduringoperation,stopthe
machineimmediatelyandcorrecttheproblembefore
continuingoperation.Seriousdamagecouldoccurif
youoperatethemachinewithamalfunction.
Mowing
Therotationalspeedofthecuttingcylindersshould
alwaysbekeptashighaspossibleinordertomaintain
thehighestqualityofcut.Thisinturnrequiresthatthe
enginespeedbekeptashighaspossible.
Cuttingperformanceisbestwhencuttingagainstthe
lieofthegrass.Inordertotakeadvantageofthisfact,
theoperatorshouldattempttoalternatethedirection
ofmowingbetweencuts.
Takecarenottoleaveuncutstripsofgrassatthe
overlappointsbetweenadjacentcutterheadsbyavoiding
tightturns.
QualityofCut
Thequalityofcutwilldeteriorateiftheforwardspeed
isexcessive.Alwaysbalancethequalityofcutwith
theworkraterequiredandsettheforwardspeed
accordingly.
Engine
Neverlettheenginelabour.Reducetheforwardspeed
orincreasetheheightofcut.Checkthatthecutting
cylindersarenotinheavycontactwiththeirbottom
blades.
Transporting
Alwaysdisengagethecutterheaddrivewhentravelling
acrossun-grassedareas.Grasswilllubricatethecutting
edgeswhilstmowing.Excessiveheatwillbuildupifthe
cuttingcylindersarerunwhennotmowingandthis
willcauserapidweartotakeplace.Forthisreasonitis
alsowisetoreducecuttingspeedwhenmowinglightly
grassedareasorwhenthegrassisdry.Becarefulwhen
drivingbetweenobjectssoyoudonotaccidentally
damagethemachineorcuttingunits.
WARNING
Takecarewhentravellingoverobstaclessuchas
roadsidekerbs.Alwaystravelatslowspeedover
obstaclestopreventdamagetothemachinestyres,
wheelsandsteeringsystem.Ensurethattyresare
inatedtotherecommendedpressures.
Slopes
Useextracarewhenoperatingthemachineonslopes.
Driveslowlyandavoidsharpturnsonslopestoprevent
rollovers.Lowerthecuttingunitswhengoingdownhill
forsteeringcontrol.
RearRollerScrapers
Itisgenerallywisetoremoverearrollerscrapers
whereconditionsallow,asoptimumgrassdischarge
isachievedwithoutthem.Scrapersshouldberetted
whenconditionsaresuchthatmudandgrassstartto
buildupontherollers.Whenrettingthescraperwires
caremustbetakentoensurethattheyarecorrectly
tensioned.
