DANGER
Undercertainconditions,dieselfuelandfuel
vaporsarehighlyammableandexplosive.Are
orexplosionfromfuelcanburnyouandothersand
cancausepropertydamage.
•Useafunnelandllthefueltankoutdoors,in
anopenarea,whentheengineisoffandiscold.
Wipeupanyfuelthatspills.
•Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.Add
fueltothefueltankuntilthelevelis6to12mm
(1/4to1/2inches)belowthebottomoftheller
neck.Thisemptyspaceinthetankallowsthe
fueltoexpand.
•Neversmokewhenhandlingfuel,andstayaway
fromanopenameorwherefuelfumesmaybe
ignitedbyaspark.
•Storefuelinaclean,safety-approvedcontainer
andkeepthecapinplace.
DrainingtheFuelTank
ServiceInterval:Every800hours
Beforestorage
Drainandcleanthefueltankifthefuelsystembecomes
contaminatedorifthemachineistobestoredforan
extendedperiod.Usecleanfueltoushoutthetank.
CheckingtheFuelLinesand
Connections
ServiceInterval:Every400hours/Yearly(whichever
comesrst)
Checkthefuellinesandconnections.Inspectthemfor
deterioration,damage,orlooseconnections.
BleedingtheFuelSystem
Youmustbleedthefuelsystembeforestartingthe
engineifanyofthefollowingsituationshaveoccurred:
•Initialstartupofanewmachine.
•Enginehasceasedrunningduetolackoffuel.
•Maintenancehasbeenperformeduponfuelsystem
components;i.e.,lterreplaced,separatorserviced,
etc.

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandensurethat
thefueltankisatleasthalffull.
2.Openthehood.
3.TurnthekeyintheignitionswitchtotheON
positionandcranktheengine.Themechanical
pumpwillsuckfueloutofthetank,llthefuellter
andfuelhoseandforcetheairintotheengine.This
couldtakesometimetofullypurgealltheairoutof
thesystemandtheenginemightreerraticallyuntil
allairispurgedout.Whenallairispurgedandthe
engineisrunningsmoothly,itshouldberunfora
fewminutestoensurethatitisfullypurged.
