Removethekeyfromtheignitionbeforeyoudoanymaintenance.
Lubrication
GreasingtheBearingsand
Bushings
ServiceInterval:Every50hours(moreoftenindirty
ordustyconditionsandafterevery
washing).
Themachinehasgreasettingsthatyoumust
lubricateregularlywithNo.2lithiumgrease.Lubricate
moreoftenindirtyordustyconditionsbecausedirt
cangetintothebearingsandbushingsandcause
acceleratedwear.
1.Wipethegreasettingscleansothatforeign
mattercannotbeforcedintothebearingor
bushing.
2.Pumpgreaseintothettings.
3.Wipeoffexcessgrease.
Note:Improperwash-downprocedurescan
negativelyaffectbearinglife.Donotwashdown
themachinewhenitisstillhotandavoiddirecting
high-pressureorhigh-volumesprayatthebearings
orseals.
ServicingtheCutting-Unit
GearboxLubricant
ThegearboxisdesignedtooperatewithSAE
EP90Wgearlube.Althoughthegearboxcomes
fromthefactorywithlubricant,checkthelevelofthe
lubricantinthecuttingunitbeforeoperatingitandas
recommendedintheDailyMaintenanceChecklist
(page48).
CheckingtheCutting-Unit
GearboxLubricant
ServiceInterval:Every150hours
1.Positionthemachineandcuttingunitonalevel
surface.
2.Lowerthecuttingunittothe2.5cm(1inch)
heightofcut.
3.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-control
leverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,and
engagetheparkingbrake.
4.MovethethrottlelevertotheSLOWposition,
shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
5.Liftthefootrest,exposingthetopofthecutting
unit.
6.Removethedipstick/llplugfromthetopofthe
gearboxandmakesurethatthelubricantis
betweenthemarksonthedipstick(Figure69).
