1. Install the bulkhead fuel ﬁ tting into the tank through

the fuel cap opening (Fig. 391).

Note: The ﬁ tting should be installed so that the 90º

bend points toward the front of the fuel tank.

2. Install the washer and nut onto the bulkhead fuel

ﬁ tting (Fig. 392).

16. Inspect the ﬁ lter screen on the bulkhead fuel ﬁ tting.

Clean or replace the ﬁ lter screen if it is clogged or

damage (Fig. 390).

Note: If fuel is leaking from the bulkhead fuel ﬁ tting

area of the tank, the seal on the ﬁ tting has

been compromised and the whole ﬁ tting must

be replaced.

A. Flexible magnet tool used to aid assembly.
