5. Remove the hairpin cotter from the brake linkage rod
(Fig. 420).

4. Remove the E-ring and washers from the axle (Fig.
419).

1. Turn the engine off.
2. Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug
(Fig. 418).

3. Raise the machine until the tires are off the fl oor.
Support the machine with jack stands or blocks to
prevent it from falling.
