Contour Decks Develop Cracks at Discharge Area

Situation:
Some model year 2006 Contour 27” rotary decks may develop cracks in the deck housings at
the rear discharge area. These cracks occur at the rear corners where the deck turns
downwards (refer to picture) and are generally due to heavy discharge volumes and/or impact
from debris processed by the deck during mowing (i.e. rocks, golf balls, etc.)
Information:
If cracking occurs at the back of a 2006 deck, the deck shell does not need to be replaced.
Decks can be repaired by welding the shell and installing Deck Corner reinforcement Plates
(110-8780-01 & 110-8781-01). These weld-in reinforcement plates will strengthen the deck
corners and prevent the problem from reoccurring.
