CuttingUnitDriveSwitch
Thecuttingunitdriveswitch(Figure18)hastwo
positions:EngageandDisengage.Therockerswitch
operatesasolenoidvalveonthevalvebanktodrivethe
cuttingunits.
HourMeter
Thehourmeter(Figure18)indicatesthetotalhoursof
machineoperation.Thehourmeterstartstofunction
wheneverthekeyswitchisOn.
CuttingUnitShiftLever
Tolowerthecuttingunitstotheground,movethe
cuttingunitshiftlever(Figure18)forward.Thecutting
unitswillnotdropunlesstheengineisrunning.Toraise
thecuttingunits,pulltheshiftleverrearwardtothe
Raiseposition.
OnModels30839&30826,movethelevertotheright
orlefttomovethecuttingunitsinthesamedirection.
Thisshouldonlybedonewhenthecuttingunitsare
raisedoriftheyareonthegroundandthemachineis
moving.
Note:Theleverdoesnothavetobeheldintheforward
positionwhilethecuttingunitsarelowered.
DANGER
OnModels30839&30826,shiftingthecuttingunits
downhilldecreasesmachinestability.Thiscould
causearollover,whichmayresultinpersonalinjury
ordeath.
Shiftthecuttingunitsuphillwhileonasidehill.
EngineCoolantTemperatureWarning
Light
Thetemperaturewarninglight(Figure18)glowsifthe
enginecoolanttemperatureishigh.Ifthetractionunitis
notstoppedandthecoolanttemperaturerisesanother
10°F,theenginewillkill.
OilPressureWarningLight
Theoilpressurewarninglight(Figure18)glowsifthe
engineoilpressuredropsbelowasafelevel.
AlternatorLight
Thealternatorlight(Figure18)shouldbeoffwhenthe
engineisrunning.Ifitison,thechargingsystemshould
becheckedandrepairedasnecessary.
GlowPlugIndicator
Theglowplugindicatorlight(Figure18)willglowwhen
theglowplugsareoperating.
ParkingBrake
Whenevertheengineisshutoff,engagetheparking
brake(
Figure18)topreventaccidentalmovementofthe
machine.Toengagetheparkingbrake,pulluponthe
lever.Theenginewillstopifyoupressthetractionpedal
withtheparkingbrakeengaged.
LiftLeverLock
Movetheliftleverlock(Figure18)rearwardtoprevent
thecuttingunitsfromdropping.
FuelGauge
Thefuelgauge(Figure19)registerstheamountoffuel
inthetank.
