Maintenance
ChangingtheHydraulicFluid
Changehydraulicuidafterevery800operatinghours,in
normalconditions.Ifuidbecomescontaminated,contact
yourlocalTorodistributorbecausethesystemmustbe
ushed.Contaminateduidlooksmilkyorblackwhen
comparedtocleanoil.
1.Stoptheengineandraisethehood.
2.Placealargedrainpanunderthettingsecuredtothe
bottomofthehydraulicuidreservoir(Figure55).

3.Disconnectthehosefromthebottomofthettingand
letthehydraulicuidowintothedrainpan.
4.Installthehosewhenhydraulicuidstopsdraining.
5.Fillthereservoirwithapproximately12U.S.gallons
(45l)ofhydraulicuid;refertoCheckingtheHydraulic
Fluid..
Important:Useonlyhydraulicuidsspecied.
Otheruidscouldcausesystemdamage.
6.Installthereservoircap.
7.Starttheengineanduseallofthehydrauliccontrolsto
distributehydraulicuidthroughoutthesystem.Also
checkforleaks.
8.Stoptheengine.
9.Checkthelevelofthehydraulicuidandaddenough
toraiseleveltotheFullmarkonthedipstick.
Important:Donotover-ll.
ReplacingtheHydraulicFilters
Thehydraulicsystemisequippedwithaserviceinterval
indicator(Figure56).Withtheenginerunning,viewthe
indicator,itshouldbeintheGreenzone.Whentheindicator
isintheRedzone,changethehydrauliclters.

1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
cuttingdecks,stoptheengine,engagetheparking
brake,andremovethekeyfromtheignitionswitch.
2.Cleantheareaaroundtheltermountingareaandplace
adrainpanunderlter(Figure57)and(Figure58).
