AdjustingtheBrakes
Adjusttheservicebrakeswhenthereismorethan25
mm(1inch)offreetravelofthebrakepedal,orwhen
thebrakesdonotworkeffectively.Freetravelisthe
distancethatthebrakepedalmovesbeforeyoufeel
brakingresistance.
Note:Usethewheel-motorbacklashtorockthe
drumsbackandforthtoensurethatthedrumsare
freepriortoandafteradjustment.
1.Toreducefreetravelofthebrakepedals,tighten
thebrakesbylooseningthefrontnutonthe
threadedendofthebrakecable(Figure46).
