5.Withoutanoperatorontheseat,disengagetheparking
brake,movethePTOswitchtooff,andallowthe
tractionpedaltoreturntotheneutralposition.Try
startingtheengine;theengineshouldnotcrank.
UnderstandingtheDiagnostic
Light
(4WheelDriveonly)
Themachineisequippedwithadiagnosticlightwhich
indicatesiftheelectroniccontrollersensesanelectronic
malfunction.Thediagnosticlightislocatedonthecontrol
panel(Figure17).Whentheelectroniccontrolleris
functioningcorrectlyandthekeyswitchismovedtothe
Onposition,thecontrollerdiagnosticlightwillturnON
for3secondsandturnOFFtoindicatethelightisworking
properly.Ifthemachinekillsthelightwillturnonsteady
untilthekeypositionischanged.Thelightwillblinkifthe
controllerdetectsamalfunctionintheelectricalsystem.The
lightwillstopblinkingandautomaticallyresetwhenthekey
switchisturnedtotheOffpositiononcethefaulthasbeen
resolved.

Whenthecontrollerdiagnosticlightblinks,oneofthe
followingproblemshasbeendetectedbythecontroller:
•Oneoftheoutputshasbeenshorted.
•Oneoftheoutputsisopencircuited.
Usingthediagnosticdisplay,determinewhichoutputis
malfunctioning;refertoCheckingtheInterlockSwitches.
Ifthediagnosticlightisnotilluminatedwhenthekeyswitchis
intheOnposition,thisindicatesthattheelectroniccontroller
isnotoperating.Possiblecausesareasfollows:
•Thelightisburnedout.
•Fusesareblown.
•Itisnotfunctioningcorrectly.
Checktheelectricalconnections,inputfuses,anddiagnostic
lightbulbtodeterminethemalfunction.Ensurethatthe
loop-backconnectorissecuredtothewireharnessconnector.

Themachineisequippedwithanelectroniccontrollerwhich
controlsmostmachinefunctions.Thecontrollerdetermines
whatfunctionisrequiredforvariousinputswitches(i.e.seat
switch,keyswitch,etc.)andturnsontheoutputstoactuate
solenoidsorrelaysfortherequestedmachinefunction.
Fortheelectroniccontrollertocontrolthemachineas
desired,eachoftheinputswitches,outputsolenoids,and
relaysmustbeconnectedandfunctioningproperly.
UsetheDiagnosticACEdisplaytoolandoverlaytohelp
verifyandcorrectelectricalfunctionsofthemachine.Contact
yourTorodistributorforassistance.
CheckingtheInterlock
Switches
4WheelDriveonly
Thepurposeoftheinterlockswitchesistopreventtheengine
fromcrankingorstartingunlessthetractionpedalisinthe
NeutralpositionandthePTOisdisengaged.Inaddition,the
engineshouldstopwhenthetractionpedalispressedwith
operatoroffoftheseatoriftheparkingbrakeisleftengaged.
CAUTION
Ifsafetyinterlockswitchesaredisconnectedor
damagedthemachinecouldoperateunexpectedly
causingpersonalinjury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlockswitches
dailyandreplaceanydamagedswitchesbefore
operatingthemachine.
VerifyingtheInterlockSwitchFunction
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe
attachment,stoptheengine,andengagetheparking
brake.
2.Raisetheseat.
3.Locatethewireharnessandconnectorsnearthe
controller(Figure18).
