1.Openthehoodandsecuretheproprod.
2.Checkthetensionofthealternatorbeltbydepressing
it(Figure45)midwaybetweenthealternatorandthe
crankshaftpulleyswith10kg(22lb)offorce.

Thebeltshoulddeect11mm(7/16inch).Ifthe
deectionisincorrect,proceedtostep3.Ifcorrect,
continueoperation
3.Loosentheboltsecuringthebracetothealternator
(Figure45),andthealternatorpivotbolt.
4.Insertaprybarbetweenthealternatorandtheengine
andpryoutonthealternator.
5.Whenyouachievethepropertension,tighten
thealternator,braceandpivotboltstosecurethe
adjustment.

forNeutral
Note:Ifthemachinehasrecentlyhadthehydraulicoil
changedorthetractionmotorsorhosesreplaced,anyair
trappedinthesystemwillhavetobeworkedoutpriorto
performingthisprocedure.Thiscanbeaccomplishedby
operatingthemachineinforwardandreverseforafew
minutesandthenreplenishingtheoilasrequired.
Whenpositionedonalevelsurface,themachinemustnot
creepwhenthetractionpedalisreleased.Ifitdoescreep,
adjustasfollows:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andlowertheattachmenttotheoor.
2.Jackuptherearofthemachineuntilthereartiresare
offtheshopoor.Supportthemachinewithjack
standstopreventitfromfallingaccidentally.
Note:On4wheeldrivemodels,thefronttiresmust
alsobeofftheshopoorandsupportedbyjackstands.
WARNING
Theenginemustberunningsothis
adjustmentcanbeperformed.Thiscould
causepersonalinjury.
Keephands,feet,face,andotherbodyparts
awayfromanyhotpartsoftheengineandany
rotatingparts.
3.Starttheengine,setthethrottletotheSlowposition
andobservewhichdirectionthereartiresrotate.
Iftheleftreartireisrotating,loosenthejamnuts
ontheleftsidetransmissioncontrolrod(Figure
46).
Note:Theforwardendofthecontrolrodhasa
lefthandthread.Therearendoftherod,which
isconnectedtothetransmission,hasarighthand
thread.
