checkthecoolingsystem;refertoCheckingthe

CheckingtheHydraulic
System
Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,
checkthehydraulicsystem;refertoCheckingthe
HydraulicSystem(page50).
TheSafety-Interlock
System
CAUTION
Ifthesafety-interlockswitchesare
disconnectedordamaged,themachinecould
operateunexpectedly,causingpersonal
injury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
UnderstandingtheSafetyInterlock
System
Thesafety-interlocksystemisdesignedtopreventthe
enginefromstartingunlessthefollowingoccurs:
•Youaresittingontheseatortheparkingbrake
isengaged.
•Thepowertakeoff(PTO)isdisengaged.
•ThetractionpedalisintheNEUTRALposition.
•Theenginetemperatureisbelowthemaximum
operatingtemperature.
Thesafety-interlocksystemisalsodesignedtoshut
offtheenginewhenyoumovethetractionpedalfrom
theNEUTRALpositionwiththeparkingbrakeengaged.
IfyourisefromtheseatwhenthePTOisengaged
thereisa1-seconddelayandthentheengineshuts
off.
TestingtheSafety-Interlock
System
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Ifthesafetysystemdoesnotoperateasdescribed
below,haveanauthorizedTorodistributorrepairthe
systemimmediately.
1.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,and
movethePTOtotheONposition.Trystarting
theengine:Theengineshouldnotstart.
2.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,move
thePTOtotheOFFposition,andengagethe
tractionpedal.Trystartingtheengine:The
engineshouldnotstart.
3.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTOswitchtotheOFFposition,and
allowthetractionpedaltoreturntotheNEUTRAL
position.Starttheengine.Whiletheengineis
running,releasetheparkingbrake,engagethe
PTOandriseslightlyfromtheseat:Theengine
shouldshutoffwithin2seconds.
4.Withanemptyseat,engagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTOswitchtotheOFFpositionand
movethetractionpedaltotheNEUTRALposition.
Starttheengine.Whiletheengineisrunning,
engagethetractionpedal;theengineshould
shutoffwithin2seconds.
5.Withanemptyseat,disengagetheparking
brake,movethePTOswitchtotheOFFposition,
andallowthetractionpedaltoreturntothe
NEUTRALposition.Trystartingtheengine:The
engineshouldnotstart.
PositioningtheStandard
Seat
ChangingtheSeatPosition
Theseatcanmoveforwardandbackward.Position
theseatwhereyouhavethebestcontrolofthe
machineandaremostcomfortable.

unlocktheseat(Figure14).
