Situation:
2016 Groundsmaster 3280 mowing deck gearboxes have been reported to experience minor
leakage of the gear oil at the Breather Vent Assembly. It has been determined that the Gearbox
Assemblies are missing Copper Washer (130-4899) between the Breather Cap and the elbow
fitting.
Instructions:
Please contact your Toro Commercial Products Distributor
for assistance to obtain and install Copper Washer.
Reference Service Bulletin Rotaries 14-56, “Gearbox
Breather Vent Leaks”, dated September 30, 2016 when
making your inquiry.
Washer Installation Instructions:
1. Remove the Breather Vent from the Elbow fitting.
2. Install Washer-Copper (130-4899) between the
elbow fitting and the Breather Cap.
3. Maintain the 50 degree angle on the Elbow Fitting;
the Breather Vent cannot protrude above the
Gearbox housing.
4. Torque the assembly to 11.3 Nm (100 in./lbs.).
5. Check the gear oil level.
