tightenitwheninstallingthebattery.

Condition
Important:Beforeweldingonthemachine,
disconnectthenegativecablefromthebatteryto
preventdamagetotheelectricalsystem.
Checkthebatteryconditionweeklyorafterevery50
hoursofoperation.Keeptheterminalsandtheentire
batterycaseclean,asadirtybatterywilldischarge
slowly.
1.Accessthebattery;refertoAccessingthe
Battery(page53).
2.Removetherubberinsulatorfromthepositive
terminalandinspectthebattery.Ifthebatteryis
dirty,dothefollowingsteps:
A.Washtheentirecasewithasolutionof
bakingsodaandwater.
B.Coatbothbatterypostsandcable
connectorswithGrafo112X(skin-over)
grease(ToroPartNumber505-47)to
preventcorrosion.
C.Slidetherubberinsulatoroverthepositive
terminal.
D.Closethebatterycover.
