GeneralSafety
•Parkthetractionunitandmachineonarm,level
surface;shutofftheengine,removethekey,and
waitforallmovingpartstostopbeforeadjusting,
repairing,cleaning,orstoringthemachine.
•Onlydisconnectthemachinefromthetractionunit
whileonalevelsurface.
•Whendisconnectingthemachine,alwayschock
thewheelstopreventmovement.
•Keepallpartsofthemachineingoodworking
conditionandallhardwaretightened.
•Replaceallworn,damaged,ormissingdecals.
TowingSafety
•Beforetowingthemachine,checkwithyour
localcountyorstatesafetytowingregulations,in
additiontomeetingDepartmentofTransportation
(DOT)SafetyT owingRegulations.
•Towonlywithamachinethathasahitchdesigned
fortowing.Donotattachtowedequipmentexcept
atthehitchpoint.
•Alwaysinspectthehitchandcouplingforwear.
Donottowthemachinewithdamagedormissing
hitchesorcouplings.
•Avoidsuddenstopsandstarts.Thiscancause
skiddingorjackkning.Smooth,gradualstarts
andstopswillimprovetowing.
•Avoidsharpturnstopreventrolling.
•Chockthewheelstowhileparkedtoprevent
movement.
TowingforTransport
1.Disengagethemowerreelsbyrotatingthereel
throwoutknobsoutward;refertotheOperators
Manualforthecuttingunits.
2.Graspthehandlegripofthelifthandlesonthe
frameandrotateeachhandle180°forward.This
willraisethecuttingunitsofftheground.
HaulingtheMachine
•Usecarewhenloadingorunloadingthemachine
intoatrailerortruck.
•Usefull-widthrampsforloadingmachineinto
trailerortruck.
•Tiethemachinedownsecurelyusingstraps,
chains,cable,orropes.Bothfrontandrearstraps
shouldbedirecteddownandoutwardfromthe
machine.
