Drive
1.Starttheengine.
2.Movetheself-propeldrivebailfromtheneutral
position.
•Tomoveforward,squeezetheself-propeldrivebail
againstthehandle(Figure11).

Note:Youcanvarythegroundspeedby
increasingordecreasingthedistancebetweenthe
self-propeldrivebailandthehandle.Lowerthe
drivebailtowardtheneutralpositiontodecrease
thegroundspeedwhenmakingaturnorifthe
machineismovingtoofast.Ifyoureleasethedrive
bail,itreturnstoneutralandthemachinestops
moving.Squeezethedrivebailclosertothehandle
toincreasethegroundspeed.Whenyouholdthe
drivebailtightagainstthehandle,themachine
movesatthemaximumgroundspeed.Releasethe
drivebailtostopmovingorwheneveryouleave
themachine.
•Toturnleftorright,decreasethespeed,pushdown
onthehandles,andturnthemachineinthedesired
direction;thenresumenormaloperation.
•Tomoveinreverse,releasethedrivebailandallow
ittoreturntoneutral.Pushthedrivebaildown
andawayfromthehandle.Thegroundspeedwill
varyasthedistanceincreasesordecreasesfrom
theneutralposition.
3.Todisengagetheself-propeldriveandplacethe
machineintotheneutralposition,releasethedrivebail.
Note:Ifthemachinecreepsforwardorrearward
whenthedrivebailisintheneutralposition,stopthe
engineandadjusttheself-propeldrivecable;referto
AdjustingtheSelf-propelDrive(page21).
