ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Shutofftheengine,engagetheparkingbrake,
waitforallmovingpartstostop,andremove
thekey.
2.Inspectsprocketsforwearandreplaceas
required(Figure16).

thekey.
2.Checkthechaintension(Figure16)atboth
sidesofthemachine.
Note:Thechainsshouldmoveupanddown6
to12mm(1/4to1/2inch).
3.Ifthenspoporsnap;refertoAdjustingthe
JackshaftDrive-ChainT ension(page41),
AdjustingtheDriveWheelChainTension(page
42),orAdjustingtheTineDriveChain(page51).

Important:Donotlubricatechainswith
penetratingoilorsolvents.Useoilorchain
lubricant.
1.Shutofftheengine,engagetheparkingbrake,
waitforallmovingpartstostop,andremove
thekey.
2.Raisethemachineandsupportitwithjack
standswitha460kg(1,015lb)capacity.
CAUTION
Raisingthemachineforservice
ormaintenancerelyingsolelyon
mechanicalorhydraulicjackscouldbe
dangerous.Themechanicalorhydraulic
jacksmaynotbeenoughsupportormay
malfunctionallowingthemachinetofall,
whichcouldcauseinjury.
Donotrelysolelyonmechanical
orhydraulicjacksforsupport.Use
adequatejackstandsorequivalent
support.
3.Starttheengineandmovethethrottlelevel
aheadtothehalf-throttleposition.
WARNING
Enginemustberunninganddrivewheels
mustbeturningsoadjustmentscanbe
performed.Contactwithmovingpartsor
hotsurfacesmaycausepersonalinjury.
Keepyourî‚¿ngers,hands,andclothing
clearofrotatingcomponentsandhot
surfaces.
4.Disengagetheparkingbrake.
5.Withtheenginerunning,slowlymovethe
motion-controlleversforwardandlubricateall6
chains(Figure16).
6.Checktheconditionandtensionofthechains;
refertoCheckingtheConditionoftheChains
(page22).
