Every500hours—Replacethesecondary
air-cleanerelement(moreofteninextremely
dustyorsandyconditions).
Inspectthefoamandpaperelements,andreplace
themiftheyaredamagedorexcessivelydirty.
Important:Donotapplyoiltothefoamorpaper
element.
RemovingtheFoamandPaper
Elements
1.Shutofftheengine,engagetheparkingbrake,
removethekey,andwaitforallmovingpartsto
stopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
2.Cleanaroundtheaircleanertopreventdirtfrom
gettingintotheengineandcausingdamage
(Figure30).

2.Washthefoamelementinliquidsoapand
warmwater.Whentheelementisclean,rinse
itthoroughly.
3.Drytheelementbysqueezingitinacleancloth.

Note:Replacethepaperelementifitis
damaged.
2.Cleanthepaperelementbygentlytappingitto
removedustanddebris.
Note:Iftheelementisverydirty,replacethe
air-cleanerelement.
Note:Donotusepressurizedairtocleanthe
