WARNING
Hotexhaustsystemcomponentsmayignite
fuelvaporsevenaftertheengineisshut
off.Hotparticlesexhaustedduringengine
operationmayigniteammablematerials.
Firemayresultinpersonalinjuryorproperty
damage.
Donotrefuelorrunengineunlessspark
arresterisinstalled.
1.Shutofftheengine,engagetheparkingbrake,
removethekey,andwaitforallmovingpartsto
stopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
2.Allowthemufertocool.
3.Checkthesparkarresterforbreaksinthe
screenorwelds.
Note:Replacethesparkarresterifitisworn
ordamaged.
4.Ifyouseethatthescreenisplugged,perform
thefollowing:
A.Removethesparkarrester.
B.Shakeloosetheparticlesfromthearrester
andcleanscreenwithawirebrush.
Note:Soakthearresterscreeninsolvent
ifnecessary.
C.Installsparkarresterontoexhaustoutlet.

ReplacingtheFuelFilter
ServiceInterval:Every800hours/Yearly(whichever
comesrst)
Note:Wipeupanyspilledfuel.
1.Shutofftheengine,engagetheparkingbrake,
removethekey,andwaitforallmovingpartsto
stopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
2.Closethefuel-shutoffvalve;refertoUsingthe
Fuel-ShutoffValve(page23).
3.Squeezetheendsofthehoseclampstogether
andslidethemawayfromthelter(Figure39).
