ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Clean
andchecktheair-cleanerfoamand

Every50hours—Replacetheair-cleanerfoam
andpaperelements.
Note:Servicetheaircleanermorefrequentlyifthe
operatingconditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.
RemovingtheFoamandPaper
Elements
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchbefore
leavingtheoperatingposition.
2.Cleanaroundtheaircleanertopreventdirtfrom
gettingintotheengineandcausingdamage.
3.Removetheair-cleanercoverbyunscrewingthe
2knobs(Figure16).

FoamElement:
1.Washthefoamelementinliquidsoapandwarm
water.
2.Whentheelementisclean,rinseitthoroughly.
3.Drytheelementbysqueezingitinacleancloth.
Note:Donotoiltheelement.
Important:Replacethefoamelementifit
istornorworn.
4.Installthefoamelementontoacleanpaper
element.
PaperElement:
1.Tapthepaperelementonasolid,atsurface,
andblowitoutfromtheinsidewithcompressed
airtoremovedustanddirt.
2.Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,and
damagetotherubberseal.
Important:Donotcleanthepaperelement
withliquids,suchassolvents,gasoline,or
kerosene.Replacethepaperelementifitis
damagedorcannotbecleanedthoroughly.
3.Cleantheinsideoftheair-cleanercoverofall
dirt,dust,anddebris.
