1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandshutoffthe
engine.
2.Allowtheenginetocool.
3.Cleanaroundthefuel-tankcapandremoveit(Figure
7).
4.Addfueltothefueltankuntiltheleveloffuelisatthe
bottomofthellerneck.
5.Installthefuel-tankcapsecurely.
6.Wipeupanyfuelthatmayhavespilled.
CheckingtheEngine-OilLevel
Beforeyoustarttheengineandusethemachine,check
theoillevelintheenginecrankcase;refertoCheckingthe
Engine-OilLevel(page19).

bystandersavoidinjury.

Thebladeissharp;contactingthebladecanresultin

Operatethemachineonlyingoodvisibilityand
appropriateweatherconditions.Donotoperatethe
machinewhenthereistheriskoflightning.

Useextremecarewhenapproachingblindcorners,
shrubs,trees,orotherobjectsthatmayblockyourview .
Watchforholes,ruts,bumps,rocks,orotherhidden
objects.Uneventerraincouldcauseaslip-and-fall
accident.
Shutoffthemachineandinspectthebladeafterstriking
anobjectorifthereisanabnormalvibrationinthe
machine.Makeallnecessaryrepairsbeforeresuming
operation.
Beforeleavingtheoperatingposition,shutofftheengine,
andwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
Iftheenginehasbeenrunningthemuferwillbehotand
canseverelyburnyou.Keepawayfromthehotmufer.

down.Useextremecautionwhenchangingdirectionon
