Gasolineisextremelyammableandexplosive.A

Topreventastaticchargefromignitingthe
gasoline,placethecontainerand/ormachine
onthegroundbeforelling,notinavehicleor
onanobject.
Fillthetankoutdoorswhentheengineiscold.
Wipeupspills.
Donothandlegasolinewhensmokingoraround
anopenameorsparks.
Storegasolineinanapprovedfuelcontainer,out
ofthereachofchildren.
Donottipthemachineeitherforwardor
backwardwithfuelinthefueltank;otherwise,
fuelmayleakoutofthemachine.
FillingtheFuelTank
Fillthefueltankwithfreshunleadedgasolinehavingan
octaneratingatornear87fromamajorname-brand
servicestation(Figure12).

Important:DonotuseE85orE20fuel.Alternative
fuelswithhighalcoholcontentcancausehard
starting,poorengineperformance,andmaycause
internalenginedamage.
Note:Forbestresults,purchaseonlythequantityof
gasolinethatyouexpecttousein30days.Otherwise,
youmayaddfuelstabilizertonewlypurchasedgasoline
tokeepitfreshforupto6months.
CheckingtheEngineOilLevel
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Check
theengineoillevelandaddoilif
necessary.
1.Ensurethatthefueltankisnotoverlled(referto
Figure12)andthatthefuelcapissecurelyinplace.
2.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface.
3.Cleanaroundtheoilllcap(Figure11).
4.Unscrewtheoilllcapandremoveit.
5.Wipethedipstickontheoilllcapwithacleancloth.
6.Insert,butdonotscrewin,theoilllcapintothe
oilllhole.
7.Removetheoilllcapandcheckthedipstick.
8.Todeterminetheproperoillevelonthedipstick,
refertoFigure13.

checkingtheoillevel.
