Spark-pluggap:0.76mm(0.030inch)
1.Disconnectthespark-plugwirefromtheterminalof
thesparkplug(Figure19).
2.Cleantheareaaroundthebaseofthesparkplug.
3.Removethesparkplugfromthecylinderheadby
rotatingtheplugcounterclockwise.
4.Examinetheplugforwearanddamage(Figure27).
Important:Replaceacracked,fouled,ordirty
sparkplug.Donotcleantheelectrodes,because
gritenteringthecylindercandamagetheengine.

5.Checkthespark-pluggapwithawiregauge(Figure27).
Note:Ifnecessary,adjustthegapto0.76mm(0.030
inch)bycarefullybendingthegroundelectrode.
6.Installthesparkplugbythreadingitintothecylinder
headandtorquingtheplugto20N-m(14lb-ft).
7.Connectthespark-plugwiretotheterminalofthe
sparkplug.

DrainingtheFuelSystem
1.Locatethedrainboltthatisinthesideportofthe
carburetorbowl(Figure28).

2.Aligntheequipmentthatyouwillusetocollectthefuel
beneaththedrainscrew.
3.Removethedrainscrewfromthecarburetorandallow
thefueltodrainfromthefueltankandthecarburetor.
Note:Donotremovethebowl-retainingscrewfrom
carburetor.
