1.Performthevalvelappingifanyofthefollowingwereperformed:
•Newvalve
•Regroundvalve
•Valveseatwasreconditioned
2.Usingahandvalve-lappingtool,attachthesuctioncuptotheendofthevalve.

3.Applyalightcoatofvalvegrindcompoundtothevalveface.
4.Insertthevalveintothematchingvalveguide.
5.Rotatethevalveontheseatwiththevalve-lappingtooluntilthevalveface
andvalveseathavesmoothsurfaces.
6.Repeatlappingontheothervalve.
7.Usehotsoapywatertoremovethegrindingcompoundfromtheentire
cylinderheadandallofthevalves.
8.Afterdrying,applyalightcoatofengineoiltotheentirecylinderhead.
9.Ensureallthegrindingcompoundisremovedfromthecylinderheadand
valvecomponents.

1.Installtheguideplateovertheholesinthecylinderheadandsecurewiththe
2rockerarmmountingstuds.Torquethestudsto2.9N•m(21ft-lb).
2.Orientthecylinderheadsotheintakeisontherightandtheexhaustison
theleft.
Note:Theexhauststudshavelargerthreadsthantheintakestuds.The
intakestudsarelongerthantheexhauststuds.
3.Lubricateanewvalveguidesealandinstallovertheintakeguide(RHvalve
guide).
