1.Cleanandinspecttheholeinthecrankcasewherethegovernorshaftis

installed.Ifdamaged,replacetheengine.

2.Cleanandinspectthegovernorshaftfordamage.Ifdamagedorworn,

replacethegovernorshaft.

3.Cleanandinspectthewasher.Ifdamagedorworn,replacethewasher.

4.Inspectthehairclip.Ifthehairpinisdamagedorwillnotstayattachedtothe

governorshaft,replacethehairpin.

1.Installthewasheronthesplinedendofthegovernorshaft.

2.Installthesplinedendofthegovernorshaftthroughtheholeinthecrankcase.

Positionthegovernorshaftsothelevermakescontactwiththegovernor

spool.

3.Installthehairpinonthegovernorshaftwiththeopenendofthehairpin

pointingtowardstheywheel.Verifythegovernorshaftonlyrotatesafew

degrees.
