•Neverstorethemachinewithfuelinthefuel
tankinsideabuildingwhereignitionsourcesare
present,suchashotwaterheaters,spaceheaters,
orclothesdryers.Allowtheenginetocoolbefore
storinginanyenclosure.
•Whenstoringthemachineformorethan30days,
refertoStorage(page25)forimportantdetails.
PreventingFreeze-upafter
Use
•Insnowyandcoldconditions,somecontrolsand
movingpartsmayfreeze.Donotuseexcessive
forcewhentryingtooperatefrozencontrols.
Ifyouhavedifcultyoperatinganycontrolorpart,
starttheengineandletitrunforafewminutes.
•Afterusingthemachine,lettheenginerunfor
afewminutestopreventmovingpartsfrom
freezing.Engagetheauger/impellertoclearany
remainingsnowfrominsidethehousing.Rotate
theQuickSticktopreventitfromfreezing.Shutoff
theengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removealliceandsnowfromthemachine.
•Withtheengineoff,pulltherecoil-starthandle
severaltimesandpushtheelectric-startbutton
oncetopreventtherecoilstarterandelectric
starterfromfreezingup.
